First aid kits provide immediate care for workplace injuries until professional medical assistance is available.OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.151 requires that adequate first aid supplies be readily available. Departments are responsible for maintaining appropriate kits based on their specific workplace hazards and conditions.

First Aid Kits

Class A Kits

  • Designed for low-hazard environments such as offices, classrooms, and retail spaces.
  • These kits contain supplies for common minor injuries.
  • Typically can service up to 40 employees in a low-risk workspace.

Class B Kits

  • Designed for higher-risk environments such as laboratories, workshops, and construction areas.
  • These kits include additional supplies for more serious injuries.
  • Typically, it can cover up to 50 employees, but depending on the risk, more may be required.
